The Story of Kind History

PASSION
My passion for collecting began early, shaped by countless weekends spent treasure-hunting with my mother at thrift stores, estate sales, and neighborhood yard sales. I was especially drawn to jewelry—and to the stories held within each piece. Even then, I found myself imagining the lives and histories behind every discovery.
-
FASCINATION
That early fascination led me to study Metals and Jewelry at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I began selling my work to local boutiques. Upon graduation,my career took a significant turn when I was offered a professional jewelry design role, bringing me to Rhode Island. There, I spent 16 years designing mass-production jewelry for specialty retailers. Seeing my designs worn in the world and featured in print was deeply rewarding, and I’m grateful for the talented designers I collaborated with—many of whom remain close friends today.
-
A RETURN TO CRAFT
Over time, I returned to my roots, creating wholesale collections using repurposed materials and vintage charms. This shift ultimately brought me back to Savannah, where I was honored to receive an artist residency with the Savannah College of Art and Design, deepening my connection to the local creative community. I later moved into a permanent studio location at Brewside, where I host in-person design sessions and continue to collaborate with local merchants.

"Kind History is the evolution of a jewelry lover's eye and an antique lover's heart. Seeing the potential in broken jewelry and relics tucked in drawers or dusty defunct factories, Libby creates her own art out of someone's forgotten past."
- Kate Foster
